Can you turn a friend into a lover?

So there's this girl i've been friends w/ for like 5 years.. i have always kind of liked her, but never pursued a relationship with her.. as time has gone on, i have realized more and more that she's the perfect girl for me.. I am definitly in love with her and just totally crazy about her! she's all I think about!

Is there any chance that I can turn a 5 year friendship into something more?? How do I go about doing this? shoud I just spill my guts one day, or take a slower approach??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! :)

The only way you can turn this friendship around is if you are completely honest to her about your feelings. Now, she may or may not feel the same way but you won't know until you make it known.

Man-o-man, I've been there.

You should ask yourself, "out of these 5 long years, why haven't I tried to date other women?" Really ask yourself that.

Seriously.

I would keep her as a friend and meet other interesting people.

Turning a friend to something much more takes too much time and effort to do (...yes, its possible) BUT life is too friggin' short to worry about things like that.

Go out and forget about her (but keep her as a friend) and find someone who would reciprocate your 'feelings'.
