Confused?

This girl whom I have been attracted for the past 4 years gave her number to a mutal friend to give to me. So, right there, I know there is some interest on her part. So, that night I called her and we wwent out 2 nights later. The next day, she texted me a few times. Again, tells me there is some interrest. But, since then, she has totally backed off. I tried calling her a few days later. Got her voicemail and heard nothing since. I then bumped into her at work a few days after that and we talked and I said when she gat a chance to call me and she said sure. Needless to say, i havent heard from her.

Do I forget her..Do I call...Do I wait...What? If after our first date she was not interested, why would she bother to contact me and then why would she back off so fast. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Don't be panic.
First tell did you reply to her text and other initiatives. It tells a lot, if you haven't. Revise your talk and your gestures, may be she got a perception that you are not interested seriously, or may she is very busy........

I am girl and I think she also likes you. But may be you made a mistake.
I agree with Frank, may be she miscommunicated your gestures or you were unable to show her that you care.
