View Full Version : Is he interested? Or should I make a move?

I recently hired a "man with a van" off the internet to move some stuff for me. When he showed up he was a gorgeous actor - cross between Ed Harris and Sam Shepard. We spent 2.5 hours together telling each other our life stories. We laughed alot and talked about movies, our dogs, art, politics. He lives in my neighborhood too. He mentioned twice in the course of conversation that he was dating someone but that he didnt think it was going to work out. He told me my name was pretty and asked me all about my life. When it got to the end of the evening I freaked becasue I wanted to hug him but it seemed weird since I was handing him 50 bucks. So I just reached out for a handshake and told him it was great meeting him. He said thanks and told me to call if I needed anything. God, that smile haunts me!

So my question is, should I wait to see if he is interested? I'm a big proponent of letting the guy make the first move because then you'll really know he is interested. Maybe he thought it was creepy of him to ask someone out who is paying him. Maybe since he is dating someone he thought I would think he was creepy for asking me out? I don't know what to do - I just can't stop thinking about him. Please advise!

No easy answer to that scenario because honestly, you just don't know whether or not he was "interested" in you, or just "interesting" period!

The fact he mentioned his current situation may or may not work out tends to lead one to think that they dropped that hint for a reason, but then he could just be a "talker" and thinks out loud.

You really have but a couple options I figure, and that's 1) Find something to move again and ask for him again personally and play it by ear after you get the second chance, or 2) call him up and ask him for lunch/coffee somewhere non-threatening and see what he says...

I'm open to other ideas, but I just can't see too many based on the nature of the situation...
